Bulleen Lions squad for the 2017 NPL Victoria season is starting to take shape as the club announced a number of new signings and re-signings today.
Having already announced new coach Aaron Healey will take charge next season, the former Dandenong City coach has brought in eight new face, including Bradley Clarke and Chris Ross, who have both played under Healey at Dandenong.
The other new faces are goalkeepers Shane Viitakangas and Wyatt Chant, winger Jordan Templin, midfielders Nathan Liberto and Francesco Gallo, plus American striker Oliver White.
Viitakangas comes from Queensland side Gold Coast City FC while Chant joins from Melbourne Victory’s Youth side. The two glove-men will be contesting to fill the void left by Griffin McMaster who has signed for Northcote City.
Jordan Templin joins Bulleen from State League side Malvern City, following previous stints at Nunawading City and Bentleigh Greens while Liberto makes the move from NPL2 Sunshine George Cross.
The club also announced a number of key players to remain at the club in 2017. Will Abbott, Andrew Mullett, Eli Luttmer, Sam Borghesi, Davide Cardamone and Bardhi Hysolli have all re-signed while youngster Nicholas Voulgaris has been promoted after an impressive season in Lions’ U20’s side.
The wave of signings comes after the departures of Ersin Kaya (Hume City), Takanori Nishimoto (Port Melbourne Sharks), Sami Nour (Green Gully), Felix Rosman (Moreland City) and Matteo Ballan (Pascoe Vale). More signings are expected for Bulleen before the start of the season in February.
